About Mercedes:

Mercedes Brandt is a multi-faceted professional with a passion for the arts and education. Originally from Iowa, she has also lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin, where she currently resides in Madison. Mercedes joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020, first as the Posse Program Administrator and later as an Advisor and Outreach Coordinator for the Art Department. Prior to her time at UW-Madison, she worked as a full-time professional photographer and artist. Mercedes holds a degree in Graphic Technologies from the University of Northern Iowa, where she also marched in the band and developed a love for coffee while working as a barista. After designing albums for a large printing company, she continued her education in the arts through the Hawkeye Professional Photography Program. Currently, she is pursuing an M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison while continuing her professional photography and indulging in her love of coffee, the arts, and travel.
