August 29, 2025
1. L&S Transfer Student Academic Orientation
Orientation will welcome new transfer students who advise with L&S Academic Advising Services (AAS). It is an opportunity to gather with fellow students and learn more about your L&S education, academic and non-academic resources, and how to access advising. Drop-in advising with L&S academic advisors will be available following the program.
Cross-College Advising Services (CCAS) and L&S Honors will be hosting their own orientations.

When: 10:00am – 10:45am
2. New Transfer Student Symposium
This supplemental, in-person orientation program will include sessions tailored to the first-semester transfer student experience. We understand that you are coming to campus as a very successful college student who wants to connect to campus quickly and in a meaningfully way. Start this next chapter with other newly enrolled transfers and leave with all the information and resources you will need to have an amazing Wisconsin Experience.

1. Dean Wilcots’ Address
Transfer students are invited to the Memorial Union Terrace to hear from L&S Dean Eric Wilcots and take photos with classmates.

2. Chancellor’s Welcome Lunch
Where: Sellery Residence Hall basketball courts.
When: 11:15am – 1:00pm
3. UW-Madison Convocation
Chancellor Mnookin will welcome all new UW-Madison students.
Where: Kohl Center
When: 1:30pm. Doors open at 12:30pm.
